Hiya Leanne - Thank you for another wonderful podcast and the tour of Windsor was awesome. I have been to the yarn shop you visited and I agree that they are so nice. Their shop was my first intro to Arcane Fibers and I bought some when they were at this years' Knit City Toronto for some cowls I will start on this Fall. It was nice seeing the Sunset Highway knit up, a friend gifted that pattern to me and I look forward to making it. There are so many great patterns out there so its no wonder that you have 7 WIPs. I have only 2 active WIPs but I have a few other inactive WIPs and I am wanting to cast on all the summer projects. :) I have made a deal with myself to finish my current sweater and socks and then I can cast something new on...lol. But I may just finish the socks and get a knit tee on the needles because I am the boss of my own knitting after all (as Nancy Wheeler says).

Leanne thanks for your latest podcast, I’m always delighted when a new episode pops up. I applaud you for realizing you need some Leanne time. I was just down the road from Windsor this weekend, celebrating a cousin’s graduation. I haven’t been to Windsor in a very long time, yarn shop looks appealing - 🩷 their mascot. Also have heard great things about the yarn shop in Kingsville, from Kelly and Noelle of Knitting Pieces podcast, who are located in S/W Ontario. Happy 🇨🇦 Day and wishing you a lovely summer. Thanks for another great episode. I also love colorwork using fingering weight. I find I wear the sweaters more because they’re not so bulky. And if you use Shetland yarn, they are super warm. I have knit a bunch of the SWW hats, and I find they run big. Which works for me because I have a big head! While you were talking about your head size, I measured mine and it’s 23 inches. I haven’t knit the newest hat yet, but I will. I have tons of Shetland yarn because I was lucky to go on the Grand Shetland Adventure with Gudrun Johnston and MJ Mucklestone a couple of years ago. It was so perfect and I highly recommend travel to Shetland if you can get there!

I love seeing your episodes but I know it’s a lot of work. I’ll look forward to when you come back. My knitting time has taken a backseat to moving into a new apartment but I’m slowly getting things organized and as much as I would love to cast on something new I really need to finish some WIPS. We will miss you but enjoy yr break. I used pink/grey merino yarn for suburban wrap which I finished. It came from Ashford where you bought yr spinning wheel. Was going to suggest their wheels but you chose one so all good. Ashford spinning wheels have been in use for years . Happy spinning

I know everyone needs a break , but I’ll really miss you. I like getting all about your knitting and at the same time we get to see and hear about different places. Specially Canada. I’ll be waiting for your return.

I love your podcasts but understand your need to take time to rest, to enjoy your flights. I love seeing your country - I live in New Zealand. I have a question for you in regards to choosing your colours for Fair Isle - what are the rules that you follow. I have a kit for the new Shetland Wool Week hat but would like to do one with colours that I have chosen after that but am not sure what the basic 'rules' are... if you know what i mean. So interesting to see my city featured this time. Yes, sadly, many of our Windsor residents are struggling with homelessness, addiction and mental health issues and solutions often seem out of reach. It can be so disheartening to see how many suffer this way. Hopefully, we will continue to develop housing solutions and other intervention programmes to provide opportunities to lift each other up. We do have fabulous restaurants and coffee shops - maybe you’ll get a chance to check a couple of them out next time you’re here. Or a trip to the yarn shop in Kingsville. Enjoy your well-deserved break first, Leanne!

I grew up in Detroit and traversed the tunnel and the bridge many many many times. It was always very exciting going to that other country, Canada! Thanks for the memories.

While most of me totally wants you to do what you know is best for you, I’m sure going to miss the podcast. Beautiful knitting! I refuse to count my WIPs. Some stare at me from across my room. I carry some around as if… Clearly you need more project bags (for the WIPs). Have a reasonably happy summer.

Being a Michigander from the UP, I speak fluent Ontarian and it was a treat to see Windsor through your eyes. I understand your anxiety regarding numerous works in progress. I usually have two socks plus a large project going on at one time, but more than that makes me nervous. I always enjoy seeing more Canadian cities through your eyes. We just spent a week in Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake at the Shaw Festival, Stratford, and Port Stanley, returning home through Sarnia. We had beautiful weather and a wonderful time hanging out with Canadians. Happy Canada Day!

The colors on the first Shetland wool week hat barely show up on my monitor! It looks two toned! The second is very pretty! all very nice. Have a nice break, and enjoy spinning.

Hat 32 looks great on. Hard to get these to fit a smaller head. Both hats are lovely. Good for you for taking some time off to enjoy the summer in between busy schedules and all those lovely WIPS.

Thanks for showing some of my part of the world. I don’t live there anymore, but it’s nice to see it on a podcast. It really has changed, some good, some not so good. Next time I visit, I’ll make time to check out the yarn store with my aunt. I always enjoy your podcasts, they are always so informative. Also, I think it’s great when people share they are taking some me time out. It’s healthy.

Wow, loving the cowgirl crop… and I’m amazed how far 20g of yarn goes! I can recommend Norman of NimbleNeedles who does lots of tutorials. He has one called “A Better Way to knit German short rows” from about 1 year ago. He has an earlier one too, so look out for the more recent one. Enjoy your break! 😊

I just watched a really interesting video by Knicole Knits here on UA-cam where she modifies shawls into what she calls wrapovers. Basically she modifies the pattern into a long rectangle and seams it and ends up with a type of poncho effect. Oh, I really like the Garden Cardigan….very pretty.
